Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
It's a bit of a saga but basically I have a friend with a spray shop and he got it for me from his paint supplier on his trade account. I am located near Edinburgh but fyi the supplier is " sinemaster ". Don't know if they are a national or not.

Re: How to check battery drain properly with an multi meter
Back again, After a bit of faffing and trying to check current, realised finally that fuse was blown in ammeter! Now fixed and working properly so back to basics with checking current at battery. Reading is 0.09amps which I presume is not sufficient to drain battery in short period of time ( but no ...

Re: How to check battery drain properly with an multi meter
Thanks all. Had to leave computer earlier. Been to see the Hobbit with my son. I didn't fall asleep once so it must have been ok.
I'll get on to checking tomorrow. Is that ok on Christmas day? Maybe not.

Re: How to check battery drain properly with an multi meter
That's great. Had a look at the stuff on you tube and it's basically what I've been doing so I'll have another look at the problem and see what I come up with.
Thanks again.

Re: How to check battery drain properly with an multi meter
Ok, thanks for that. It seems like I was doing it the right way after all. I'll check again and test the meter as you suggest.
Thanks and Merry Xmas.

How to check battery drain properly with an multi meter
Hi, I was wondering if anyone out there would be kind enough to tell me the definitive way to establish what circuit is drawing current and draining the battery on my van while not in use. I have a multi meter and have used it plenty of times for circuit checking, continuity checks etc but not a 100...

Re: Have I just blown a head gasket ??
I think all the options/scenarios have been aired so I'll have to have a think and decide what to do.
Thanks for all the input, much appreciated. I'll be back.

Re: Have I just blown a head gasket ??
Ok so if we come from the opposite direction for a moment. If I hold up my hands and say I don't really fancy doing all that work right now then can the issue of the leaky seals be lived with for the time being? Is it going to get worse through using the van? If the coolant level is kept at the corr...

Re: Have I just blown a head gasket ??
Well, I did all the studs earlier this year so hopefully that's one less thing to worry about. Do the engine number digits tell me what year it is or is that info available elsewhere.
From your advice I'm assuming the cylinder head studs can be a problem?

Re: Have I just blown a head gasket ??
Hi, I've had a good look today and I think it is the water jacket seal that's weeping. This morning ( Baltic freezing ) there was coolant lying on top of the block along the line of the seal. I dried everything off completely and could actually see the coolant begin to weep out again. Started up and...

Have I just blown a head gasket ??
Hi, I changed the coolant in my van today and everything seemed to be going well. However, this evening I thought I'd just take a peek underneath to make sure nothing was leaking. I wish I hadn't. There is a steady drip of coolant and as far as I can make out it seems to be coming from the head to b...

Re: Overhauling 5 speed gearbox linkage
Hi all, Just want to say a big thank you for this post. I've been overhauling the linkage on my own 5 speeder and have read and re-read all this info several times. I don't want to muscle in, but I too need the "mystery" plastic cap from the end of the lever. If you are intending to order ...
