steering lock
Anyone had experience of the steering lock not locking when you take the key out on a t25(1988). and if so whats the best aftermarket thing you use.Its alarmed and immobilised but the more the merrier locks wise i think. Any thoughts ,tips etc.

We went to France awile ago and we went down to see the Normandy Beaches and it took us nine hours (we wasnt in a camper by the way) on the other side to get to Vierville.Turns out it was a public holiday and the tailbacks at the tolls was miles at each one.Wont do that again so check it isnt a holi...

ha ha yeah you are so right there..I di think we had bought and old shed when i first saw the smoke..or should i say how much smoke but i will work me way around it all in time.Love the van though.Slow, noisy, and still a bit smoky with a lovely diesel aroma but its a smart old thing and not the sam...

Hello mate. Well we went up to redcar ,of all places cos the dog like the beach and its an easy straight run, today and before we set off i found the screw on the pump and backed it off a bit and its not as smoky now as it was and i cant say i noticed any drop off in go .Mind you i did miss afew gea...

Thanks for the reply. yeah smoke tells you a lot and we have other diesel cars too but a lot more modern.Anyway i found the fuel screw on the pump and backed it off a little,as the PO had altered it to give him more go but to be honest he just created a smoke screen, and now the black is almost gone...

hello folks.Just found this post and wonder if you can give me a few tips.Just bought a transporter with an aaz 1.9 diesel turbo (with intercooler) in it and it spews black smoke under load and when you rev it..look behind when driving and its probably the reason cars back off a bit .Now how do i ge...

yeah i like em so they will stay for now.Just been out doing that flashing coolant light and i have changed the Dalek cap for a new blue one (from a motor parts shop not vw) as the old one was a bit ginged up.It didnt quack when i blew through it though as i have read on here somewhere...Anyway i ch...

Hello folks .Kev i dont know about the offset or what et is and i have no idea about the castor and camber.How do i check that.I am assuming the previous owner who is a mechanic i think did all this and did it right.It isnt that it reaally heavy on the steering as in i have to force the thing around...

Hello Kieth. yeah horses for corsas as ian said (see what he did there) but i suppose thats for the future is indeed the van is .I have big wheels and tyres on it and a small steering wheel so that wont help and of course no recent experience of non power steering so once i am used to it i will thin...
