Re: Fuel pump insulator block
I bought a new pump last week from Brickwerks, and it came with two gaskets. Both were the 'open' type (bottom of itchy's pic).
However I didn't change the bottom gasket because the bakelite spacer was stuck solid... and I didn't want to risk snapping it lol

Re: Domestic RM122 fridge help
You would need the cylinder which the heating element sits into. Would be a bit complicated...
Best solution would probably to use a 240v AC to 12v DC power supply / transformer...
Then you could use the existing 12v element when on hook-up

Re: Electric Fuel Pump Noise? (DG)
Decided to refit a mechanical pump for now. Maybe I'll look into fitting the electric pump properly with relay etc in the future (didn't really fancy lying on the floor in the rain!) Bought the mid priced pump from Brickwerks (£21ish), a new pushrod and some fuel pipe/clips. The bakelite spacer was ...

Well done :D Glad you managed to get it sorted. I never would have thought the horn wires could have caused it! It's good experience for when/if you have any electrical faults in the future! Also, It's always good to keep your fuses/holders and Earth crowns nice and shiny too, so that was well...

Re: 1st Hazard lights and now indicators not working.
Is the hazard switch still out of circuit? Would this have an effect on the indicators not working? (just a random thought)

Re: 1st Hazard lights and now indicators not working.
The 7th pin is 'diagonal'. Would your wiring block which fits onto the back of the switch accommodate the diagonal pin, and if so, is there a wire attached to this slot? The switch could have possibly been replaced by a previous owner with the wrong type...? One of the reviews on JK for the switch s...

Also bear in mind that there are 6 pin and 7 pin hazard switches... Just to confuse the situation

Re: Electric Fuel Pump Noise? (DG)
I see what you mean... So the planks in the garage really didn't solve anything... Just made the entire situation worse
For now I better hope I don't run out of fuel (which I'm always close to doing ) and not leave it more than a couple of days without running the engine!
Stress.
