Re: headlight upgrade "Maybe"
CovKid, you seem to know what you're talking about and I have absolutely no idea. Could I just check what I think i've learned from the Wiki with you? My 1981 Devon headlights are pretty terrible, so I start looking for ways to upgrade them. I think I need to: 1) "upgrade the main cables from a...

Re: Brake and engine power issues
OK, the bus went into the garage this morning. They've looked into my brake issue and come back to me saying that both front calipers are binding (the off side worse than the near side). The guy explained that they've had a play, repositioned the piston etc, but when they tested them again, they wer...

Re: How do you cover your front windows?
I have a curtain rail that runs all the way round the cab, but I don't use it. All I do is hang a blanket from the roof down behind the front seats. Trying to put the curtains round is a pain, almost as much as trying to put up the internal thermal screen, which never sticks properly. This way takes...

Re: Brake and engine power issues
Okay, cheers for the responses guys. Come to think of it, I had noticed an occasional brake squeak so that could well be behind the brake issues. As for the engine issues, my first thought when it returned to normal that it could have been a fuel issue. I'll have to get it into a garage for it to be...

Re: Brake and engine power issues
Pass. I only bought it in February, it passed it's MOT just last month without issue so I didn't feel the need to check things like that.
What would be the solution, just replace the fluid and it's done?

Brake and engine power issues
So i've just got back from a 1600+ mile round trip to the South of France to see the Tour De France. 95% of the trip went without issue but I did have a couple of problems. Firstly, a slight issue with my brakes. On a 460 mile drive from Calais down to a camp spot for the night, my brake pedal went ...

Re: How/where to mount my High Lift jack
Yeah, I had wanted it mounted outside the vehicle as I don't (yet) have a roof rack for it and don't really want it taking up space inside the bus. It isn't sensible to leave it sticking out at the front like that. Could you perhaps fit some vertical 'tabs' so that it is attached pointing up? I susp...

How/where to mount my High Lift jack
So today I received my order from CampervanCulture (Cheers Jed) which contained a high lift jack and the associated mounting brackets. I had planned to mount said jack on the front bumper but have come across a slight issue. The depth of the actual lifting plate is far more than the depth of the bum...

Garage recommendation for N.Wales or N.Shrops please.
As is apparent from some of my previous posts, I'm a complete novice when it comes to these vans (and vehicles in general really). I have a few things i've bought that I need to get installed but have absolutely no idea what i'm doing. I have a week off work coming up and so need to find somewhere, ...

Re: Adventure Overland Show,Stratford Racecourse 26-27 Sept 2015
I don't have a Syncro, but a friend and I are booked in to come (him in a Defender 110). He hates the T25 so i'd love to get us camping with all the Syncronaughts! haha

Re: Do I need lead fuel additive?
I think the PO has been using the lead additive as he didn't know if the heads had been done or not. Safer to assume they hadn't and use the replacement surely? There was some left when I picked the bus up, so I used it the other day when I filled up. Is it an easy process to identify if the heads h...

Do I need lead fuel additive?
Okay, so I have a 2 litre '81 air cooled Devon and i'm not entirely sure if I should be using a lead fuel additive. The previous owner has been using it for a while, but I have no idea if this is correct or not?
Any help would be great!
