Re: Aircon problems
In the pic above one can see some damaged wiring (already replaced with thicker) and of the two brass threaded blocks to which the main power supply goes the right hand one has actually melted and is loose. I have just placed it back in its housing loosely for now.

Aircon problems
Hi there from South Africa. I don't know how many UK busses have or use aircon? Perhaps someone can help me with a problem that I'm struggling with? About a year ago I finally redid my aircon. The bus originally came with aircon from factory and still has original set up from when she was new. It ha...

Re: The T3200E thread
Hi there, Just wanting to know whether this thread of engine build is now complete, as if I’m following things correctly, the engine is now actually mounted in the bus as per your other thread Our Syncro Caravelle? Will that be the thread to follow going forward? Just asking and thank you for the am...

Re: VonOettinger '91 Multivan Syncro 3.2 WBX6
wbx's eat adjusting screws and the occasional valve stem tip.. but not in 30k... I agree, we are trying to see if something went wrong with the hydro lifters perhaps, not pumping up correctly and allowing too much "slap" all the time. The make is "something-bilstein", so i would...

Re: VonOettinger '91 Multivan Syncro 3.2 WBX6
So wbx6 repaired for a cheap price for once! Now to decide to sell or hold on to it??? What went wrong was all of the valve ends had started "mushrooming" where the rocker arm pushes on them. (Or when hydraulic lifter has bled out overnight so that it hits it to be precise). Two had then d...

Re: VonOettinger '91 Multivan Syncro 3.2 WBX6
You could always find yourself an SVX motor to stay flat-6, similar capacity to the Oetti but rather more "get up and go" . Sounds good, one being built here currently, but it actually has a lot more beef that the wbx6, wbx6 actually very old tech now, so the 2.5 Suby is closer in power e...

Re: Oettinger 3.2 WBX6 idling problems
I agree on the earth comments. Two threads a bit muddled now, so copying over list of checks done on wbx6 motor from other thread re idling issues. If this thread grows again so be it! I also have extra heavy duty earth straps from trans to body and from battery earth to body, found it also helped t...

Re: VonOettinger '91 Multivan Syncro 3.2 WBX6
anyone tried backing off the ingition timing a fair bit, just for a quick test of a retarded setting Have tried that, played with timeing and mixture etc enormously, doesnt seem to help much. Vehicle either starts stalling on take off or runs very strongly but still surges and kangaroos. Sorry to r...

Re: VonOettinger '91 Multivan Syncro 3.2 WBX6
It is just a feeling that I have, that engines of a certain type, and vehicles of a certian mass and inertia, with a certian transmission complaince (whippiness ) at certain throttle opening that happens to be near closed but not quite, at a certain rpm, usually lowish, but not always... Thanks Har...

Re: VonOettinger '91 Multivan Syncro 3.2 WBX6
Out of interest I have now done the following checks: In most cases we cannot get new parts so I borrowed used parts where possible; I have swopped out, borrowed, begged or stolen the following.... 1 The ECU - no difference 2 The idle stabilizer valve (8 different ones to see if the A, F, C etc part...

Re: VonOettinger '91 Multivan Syncro 3.2 WBX6
I'm not quite sure that I have a full understanding of the "kangarooing" thing. I wonder if I may have the same issue, after all. In low revs, approaching junctions or parking spaces or whatever, mine can be a bit "jerky". Not speeding off in any uncontrollable way or anything, ...

Re: VonOettinger '91 Multivan Syncro 3.2 WBX6
Thanks for all the input. Glad to know yours are added on too in parallel. The frustrating thing about this motor is that I can get no input from Oettinger themselves! I also believe that Oettinger wouldn't have botched things up or done a hasty design when originally putting these motors together. ...

Re: VonOettinger '91 Multivan Syncro 3.2 WBX6
I haven't seen anything like it before either, but then we don't get snow so couldn't have seen that! Amazing. I can't imagine why the fuel lines taken so low and exposed on Syncro either but there you go :o . Some feedback on the idle thing and wiring. The imported Oettinger motor has identical wir...

Re: Oettinger 3.2 WBX6 idling problems
I see everyone keeps up this conversation on your other thread! So I have also posted a response there...sorry! I am interested to see you say you only have the erractic idle and NOT the kangarooing effect. I am actually glad to hear this(I think :) ) as I have never been sure if the two symptoms ar...
