Well guys it was the ECU thanks for all your thoughts and suggestions.i didn't want to get one and find out it wasn't that,but after everyone pointing in that direction I took the plunge and bought a secondhand one. Thanks again

Thanks for the reply went to my local VW place Mega bugs in Plumstead they checked the ECU for me working fine can't see no broken wires or fried ones i'm thinking it might be the fuel pressure regulator

Hello everyone I was out to day doing ok when my 1987 2.1 Dj died on me,I had to coast downhill because of traffic then tried to start it,but it wouldn't turn over got the RAC to take me home he told me one of the cylinders had had hydraulic meaning it had got full of petrol and wouldn't turn over....

Yes I can remember reading about the tire one,and have changed plugs etc,but drove it around the weekend and after a few hours around the city it was getting very bad.

I can see your points,but if you was to go the whole hog like the lorrys have,it would be best to have a box welded to the underside and a purpose made hatch for servicing of the heater,but then how much money do you have for your van?I use mine as a daily driver

I've got a autohomes camper and it had a propex underneath it from new,it had never been used, and it was rusty and didn't work,I think the changes in the weather got to it (wet,dry sunny,snow etc) got to it.my camper has only done 58.000 miles,so I fitted a new one inside, where the potty used to b...

Hi I've a autohomes converted panel van,it looks like they cut out the outer skin first,so it looks even from the out side and then the inside after,then they've then put a angled rubber seal on the inside to fill the gaps.hope that helps.

Juddering

Hi I've a 2.1 87 dj and at around 2000 revs or just before,it starts to judder then stops as the revs climb past 2200 or there abouts,if I let it sit there it just keeps doing it.any ideas please
