Re: How heavy are our vans?
I don't think that the data means didly squat, you want to know what your van weight is with the gear in as you don't want to unload it every time you work on it.

Re: Drive away kador and figure of 8
You haven't got to neatly fit it in the gutter it has to fit between the gutter and roof, the clamps hold it in place.

Re: Drive away kador and figure of 8
Surely if you roll it all up on the pole there's nothing to hang down, just start from the bottom and roll it to the desired length?

Re: Drive away kador and figure of 8

Re: Drive away kador and figure of 8
I gave up on figure of 8, it never fitted tight so I changed to pole and clamp. It's always tight so you don't spend 20 mins reversing up to get it right. Spend a few mins looking for good clamps that don't scratch your paint.

Re: Battery discharging whilst driving
With the engine running check the voltage first out of the large wire on the alternator. It should read above 14 volts. If it does check the voltage across the battery with the engine running it should be similar. If it reads about 12-5 volts Then with the ignition on but not started check the volta...

Re: Going electric
Yes-it's possible, yes- it's been done... but I've yet to be convinced that these vans are realistically worth converting. The weight and shape of the van plus added weight of batteries means you won't get far on one charge and it would be very inefficient. If you could drive for 2 hours without th...
