Re: Paint off fiberglass when removing decals

Is the surface smooth or is it rough. If it's smooth it's probably a repair but if it's rough to the touch it's probably fiberglass. Also is there a step on the change of colour or is it smooth. If smooth it's probably a repair. It's hard to see on the pics.

Re: Paint off fiberglass when removing decals

It sounds as if you've taken off the layer of jel coat. Any chance of some pics to confirm.

Re: Electric motor homes and camper vans

:( I would expect in the not to distant future that a different driving test or amendment to the driving test similar to that relating to automatic cars and manual ones, where if you past your test in a manual car it qualifies you for an Auto but not vice versa. So if you pass your test in an elect...

Re: Vohringer ply

I used Hardwood ply and Pine furniture board (which is very light anyway for surfaces to replace my old units which were Vohringer. The advantage of using lightweight ply compared to Hardwood ply is not that great unless you are using a lot of it so a lot depends on the design of your units. Compar...

Re: Petrol

If its not E10 I would have thought that it is not legal and should be covered up. If I recall correctly it will be like the diesel when they increased the bio content. E10 simply means it can contain up to 10%, so quite legal to have that on a pump still with E5 fuel. Sent from my iPhone using Tap...

Re: Petrol

Our local Sainsburys have the pumps marked with E10 on some off them.

Re: Electric motor homes and camper vans

Electric motors are around 75% efficient modern petrol engines are 50% efficient.
People do not like change but the figures stand.
Even if we change the fuel IC engines are less efficient.

Re: Electric motor homes and camper vans

Your argument is floored as hydrogen production req electricity.
A 100% efficient electrolyser requires 39 kWh of electricity to produce 1 kg of hydrogen. The devices today require as much as 48 kWh/kg.

Re: Electric motor homes and camper vans

If you watched that article you should have noticed that they said that the battery would have to be taken out by the main dealer before it could be repaired. I would not have thought that the battery would have to be taken out for many repairs. Agreed mechanics will need to be trained but apart fro...
