Re: Engine fire!!! But why?
Thank you so much everyone for all the suggestions above. When i get the time (not often these days!) i'll check / do the rocker cover gasket & push rod seals. So, where do i start? I am mechanically minded, but haven't a clue with this old Aircooled at the moment! Ive seen an air cooled CU catc...

Re: Engine fire!!! But why?
Fuel lines are all ok from a visible check over (the "specialist" also confirmed this). I have an aftermarket fuel pump fitted just after the tank. Forgive my lack of knowledge but had the van only 6-8 weeks & i'm more of a diesel head these days - Would the original fuel pump be bypas...

Engine fire!!! But why?
After having a recent close call with an engine fire last week i'm looking to find out why it happened and (obviously) making sure it doesn't happen again! We had driven about 30mins and pulled off onto a slipway, waiting at the traffic lights a helpful motorist motioned to me to wind the window dow...

Re: 2.0 CU Aircooled lost power, help!
Thank you very much for the comprehensive replies here! I'm going to check later on this eve when i have a chance. The van has an aftermarket electric fuel pump fitted with a regulator after this. Just doing some research on this site and i've found it should be set at 2/3 on the dial. From memory i...

Just thought i'd add - i'm in Colchester in case there's a friendly helpful local T25 owner that knows their stuff? On my drive home i got a thumbs up from another T25 van - lowered and two tone green / black i think? Anyone on here?

2.0 CU Aircooled lost power, help!
Having just picked up our new T25 a couple of weeks ago, and knowing nothing about these 2.0 CU Aircooled petrol engines i thought i'd get my garage to give it the once over, change the oil, filter and spark plugs. The carbs got set up and adjusted and seemed to be running smoother and better. Picke...
