Re: AAZ Oil cooler Q
What size oiler cooler rad are you using Jed and where is it fitted? How were your temps in Morocco? I'm going to be adding an oil cooler in the next few months. Tom, whatever cooler set up you end up going for, make sure you get a stat in the take off plate around the 100ºC mark. After chatting wi...

Re: AAZ Oil cooler Q
Elvis, my oil cooler is from a Vauxhall Frontera (sport) i think. and it fits in the top grille lovely.
Its really long and narrow, rather than square like they normally are. I picked up mine in a scrappy for £10.

Re: Intercooler/charge cooler in a pickup?
Russel used to run an air/air intercooler on his orange doka.
He swore blind that it did its job properly and kept the inlet temp where it should be (checked via Vagcom)
He had made a little scoop to encourage some air to it though.

I can also thoroughly recommend Mario and MV Engineering.
They built me an engine which i then test drove nearly 6000 miles to the Sahara desert and back. The engine was absolutely perfect.

Re: Rear recovery eyes
My thought was that the bolts could be used to attach various things according to whatever someone wanted attached there.
But yeah, I hear what you're saying Simon.

Re: Rear recovery eyes
Just had a thought, the NATO version of the tow bar has a similar four bolt attachment but its centred on the tube behind the bumper rather than hung underneath like the tow bar version. Could a weld on section be made like the NATO with a recovery eye bolting on with four bolts? I'm guessing the we...

Re: Rear recovery eyes
You're correct Andy, I'm not qualified or party to information regarding the design of those loops which is why in my other comment I said that I don't profess to be an expert. But one could assume that westfalia not being a manufacturer dealing with things "offroad" that they would have d...

Re: Rear recovery eyes
So what did Westfalia have in mind when they decided that a tow hitch was all that was required? Towing. Might I ask what you consider to be a good example of a proper recovery point then? I'm not professing to be an expert here, i'm just saying that is a towing eye. It was designed by VW as a towi...

OEM is always best. Discuss.

They are not recovery eyes.
They are towing loops.
Recovery and towing....very different things.....

Re: Off-road vehicle recovery resource (sticky?)
I wasn't at SP when the demo of the recovery gear was made, but i am very glad it was done. I have been very very concerned at a few events regarding the safety of some recovery situations, in fact i said to Jed while we were away in the desert that we (CVC) should donate a kit to the club and try t...

Re: Eber D2 cutting out once up to temperature
Thanks for all your respones! I managed to get it working again (thankfully). I took the unit apart and gave it a good clean out. Turned out there was a load of fluff blocking the cabin air inlet duct. Seems to be working ok now. It's done the same thing a couple of times since, but once turned back...

Re: Eber D2 cutting out once up to temperature
Hi No fault code i'm afraid, if i remember correctly my timer being a BT one wont give out the codes? Might be wrong though, how can i find one? I'm pretty sure that the pump is delivering fuel ok, i've been keeping an eye on a small section of transparent fuel line just before the heater unit. It s...

Eber D2 cutting out once up to temperature
My Eber has just started to display this running issue: Turn on heater, starts up normally (fan runs quietly, fuel pump starts, fuel pump increases speed, fan speeds up, heat comes out) But..it seems as though as soon as the van is up to temperature and the heater starts to slow down, the fuel pump ...

Re: Eberspacher D2 7 day timer help
I've got an Ex BT D2 that came with a 7 day timer. I've wired in a switch to let me put it on continuous. The timer lets me set the heater to come on 3 times a day for 1 hour and i can set these to come on any day of the week. What timer do you have Tom, your picture has disappeared from the start o...
