i also have a terrible memory as i had a similar non starting issue 2 years ago which turned out to be a wiring issue behind the driver side taillight , i guess that's the job for the weekend.

fuel pump relay

Hi , i broke down 500 meters from home tonight , the problem is no power to the fuel pump, managed to get home by running a lead direct from the battery , so is there a relay and if so does anybody know which one it is , the van is a South African 2.5i .

Hi , the earth strap was not fitted , it was inside the van , just plain forgot about it.

Put some used original boots on instead. i reused one that was a blue plastic material , all the others were perished , i bought 4 replacements but only used 3 so still have one which i will use to replace the latest perished one if anymore fail i will try the thermoplastic ones sold by brickwerks.

Not fuel pipe related but here's another example of modern poor quality rubber mouldings , 18 month old cv boot with 3500 miles on, it has been used most days and all through the winter.Image

yeah , the one marked 15 in the above diagram , i have changed that  , inners still not working. Fuse 28 15A above the fusebox supplies the relay. Just went out with a torch to check that fuse and its missing , fitted a random fuse and there on ,  those inner high beams have not worked while I've o...

Do you have the wiring diagram ? Hi Aidan , i don't have a South African wiring diagram , pulled the fuse box as far out as it would go , checked the earths , used a jumper cable form the outer high beam to the inner and the lights came on so no power supply to the inners ,didnt get a chance to tra...

there's nothing under the insulation tape and its now fallen off. I think these SA vans have different wiring to UK vans and have not found any sign of modified wiring. i have found a picture of the relays on a previous post on this site which shows a main beam relay i have swopped this even though ...

Hi , the vehicle is a South African 2.5i with square headlights , i have just discovered the inner high beams do not work , the outer high and all other lights work as normal , removed the bulbs and they are both good , checked all fuse and swapped a relay that i think is related to the headlights. ...

My South African import has this , it dims over time but also goes out when the doors are locked so must be connected with the central locking,
