Will advance the pump a smidge, Andy, tappets,cam belt, fuel filter, sender are on the list !!

Thanks for the info, I'll remove the pump and injectors and let Mr Cheesman do his stuff when I give the jx a good service at the end of the 'syncro season'.
I'll peruse Bentley re. glow plug problem.

Recently bought a jx doca and it smokes badly until it warms up (white),no smoke when hot and just passed it's mot, pump shot ?
Also once hot and left for an hour the glowplug light doesn't come on and it won't start unless the cold start lever is pulled.
Any advice apart from fitting a tdi ?

Check the thermoswitch on the rad, it's 2 'speed'
first kicks in at 90deg ish, second at 100deg ish through no 5 relay.
( It's all in the Bentley)
