Does anybody know of any sites around this area that are open in December?
We're looking at two nights for two vans... electric would be preferred, but it really doesn't have to be anything too fancy.
Many thanks in advance

We are in Luxemburg at the moment!
We hadn't planned our hols and thought we would wing it (a bit mad in August, but hey). We've been to France, Germany and Belgium so far and are, as we speak at a nice site in Luxemburg called Birket. I would recommend this site if anyone's thinking of going around this way. there is loads for the k...

Re: Travelling issue
We replaced a frayed lapbelt in ours last year. we picked up a seatbelt for a few quid at the vw show tatton and when we had some welding work done the guy fitted it for no extra charge! We were going to move the 2 belts along and squeeze in a third but only having a 3/4 width bed this was extremely...

Re: Stopping in Laybys
My dad had a Type 2 when we were kids and spent quite a few nights in laybyes. My and my brother would 'sleep' in the 2 coffin style hammocks in the musty pop top. I say 'sleep' because we would never get much sleep, everytime anything drove past the whole van would sway, lol!

Re: Honeymoon Euro Trip August 2011.
Hey, Sounds like an adventure! We're going on our own magical mystery tour in a few days ;) Everyone's idea of 'must have' items will be different, we were at knutsford 2 weeks ago and saw some funny sights. Someone had took two 4 ft plastic topiary trees in pots to stand outside the van, which was ...

Re: Seat ideas......please.
We've got a pair of Richmond seats in our van. They already had T25 runners on them when we bought them so went straight in, they've also got armrests and lumber support in them. We paid £80 (classified ad in MMM)for them but they're currently being recovered. They were actually in really good nick ...

Apparently these cards areeally good although most don't offer a discount in high season... http://www.campingcard.co.uk/gb/en/home/uc33-l2-n641/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Also have a look for a municipal site in the area, they are sort of council run sites and are bas...

Re: Isle of Wight and Dorset recommendations
Sorry don't know any specific campsites (as we always camp on the drive at family's !) But Christchurch is nice and apart from the many beaches the New Forest is fun for a bbq and if you have kids Moors Valley (near Ringwood) is worth a visit, it's lovely there http://www.moors-valley.co.uk/" o...

Any Recommedations??
Hi, As our holiday looms closer and closer (and we still have a few jobs to do on the van) am feeling a little anxious that we really should be more prepared than we are! We have booked our tunnel crossing and figured out a rough route through belgium, luxemburg, germany and ending at zurich. But the...

Re: Curtains and curtain tape
We have a 1990 Autosleeper with original curtains, and ours keep falling off! The runners and "hooks are a bit unusual as they are just a little nobble really and the string from inside the tape just sort of clings for dear life, lol. They are generally ok it's usually just the ends of the curt...
