Hi Cruz, how did you get on with fitting the late handbrake lever in the end?
My early lever has just about had it now. It looks like they are pre-disposed to developing slack and i can only find second hand ones which will probably soon develop the same problem.
Cheers,
Richard

Re: Clatter Clatter!
Greetings all, I have a 2wd 1.6 JX TD which has just been rebuilt (head, rings and main baring but not touched the water or fuel pump) The unit is back in and running but still has a chatter - was like that since we had it but had hoped that with the rebuild it would go away... The mechanic that fit...

Re: Fitting a westfalia towbar
Turns out that there was nothing missing. the westfalia bumper i had was for the standard bumpers so i welded on brackets at the top to account for the second set of bolts.

Re: Wiring in multiple new optional extras - early bus
Right, I now have the intermittent wiper relay installed and working well. Push down on the stalk activates the rear wiper and the washer. However... when it is pushed down i get a very long blast (same duration as the cycle of the rear wiper) of water from the washer. Ideally i would just like a sh...

Re: Wiring in multiple new optional extras - early bus
Hi Nij, sorry that wasn’t clear. I have replaced the (early) wiper/indicator assembly on the steering column with one from a breakers that apparently suits a rear wiper. It has a push back/down feature on the washer stalk that the original one didn’t have - is this for the rear wiper or washer or bo...

Re: Wiring in multiple new optional extras - early bus
ok, i have answers now to most of the above. only remaining issue is the wiring of the rear wiper. "I added the missing wires to the wiper connector and tried the electrical tester on them whilst moving the stalk around. I couldn’t get any power through them – I assume I should be? I haven’t dr...

Re: Fiberglass polish
I used "International" branded cutting solution (apparently for boats etc), polish and wax for my Autohomes Hardtop. set to it with a electric buffer/polisher and was very impressed with the results. It now has a really deep shine and much whiter than before. Tip - spend the time on the cu...

Many thanks for your comments as always. Appreciate the time taken to copy that in. In that case i'll wire it in to the switch directly.

Heated rear window - what is the relay number?
Does anyone know what number relay the defogger/heated rear window uses? I don’t fancy wiring it up direct.
Any detail on the wiring diagrams/pins would be great,
Thanks

Re: Wiring in multiple new optional extras - early bus
Thanks for that guys. Seems my expectations for the weekends work were excessive to say the least... Electric windows and parking sensors are now in and running. I managed to get the headlight mod rigged up with 2*relays and 30amp cable which should be all the power needed. My only issue is that whe...

Re: Wiring in multiple new optional extras - early bus
Just wondering... for the rear wiper. While I have the stalk already - will the connection box and loom have wires in place (to a point) for this or will I have to insert new connectors and wire up to the relay being that this is an early van? any thoughts (or diagrams) appreciated.

Wiring in multiple new optional extras - early bus
Good day, I’ve a big weekend coming up on our bus. (early panel van converted to autohomes, much – much later). She’s been gutted, stripped and resprayed and while the dash is still out its time for me to get the electrics sorted. I am adding a heated rear window, a rear wiper and washer bottle (app...

Re: side window fitting please help!!
A belated thanks for your comment. Well its been a while but its all in place now. I got a panel from Mick up at Mere Brow and all the welding and prep is done (infact as its the back o/s panel/window we have decided to leave the window out as its mostly covered by the cupboard) Hopefully she is goi...

Re: Fitting a westfalia towbar
Just got hold of a westy swan neck towbar as well as upgrading to deep bumpers at the same time. I have cut the bumper to accept the swan neck but from what I can see it only utilizes two of the four fixing holes (the bottom holes) the there seems to be no bracket to attach it to the top holes on th...
