Re: Photo journal - Subaru conversion

But you'll have a tonne of coolant left over from before, so you've probably got it full now on account of never fully emptying it. Both my ej25 and eg33 Subaru conversions never needed more than about 5/6 litres of Coolant after install.

Re: Photo journal - Subaru conversion

Silly question, but are you bleeding it from the top of the rad at the front?

Tristar Syncro Doka - for sale.

Just a heads up that I'll be putting the Tristar up for sale in a few weeks when we're back from Panama. We want to come back here and spend more time, so not a lot of point having it sitting at home doing nothing. If anyone is interested, let me know. Cheers ears.

Re: My 'new' Tristar Syncro Doka - The journey starts here...

Just changing tack slightly from Diesel, I need to replace both front outer CVs on the Doka. Baxter has GKN outers at £150, but VanCafe in California has complete front driveshafts (outers, shaft and inners) made by Lobro for $265 which is about £170. http://www.van-cafe.com/home/van/page_195_1249/...

Re: My 'new' Tristar Syncro Doka - The journey starts here...

my doka has the same springs, been running them for about a year and so far no problems on standard CV´s Presumably you went for the 2' lift ones and not the standard height ones? The site says the lifted ones are designed for westfalias, and so on lighter vehicles you run the risk of being even hi...

Re: My 'new' Tristar Syncro Doka - The journey starts here...

Thanks for the insight so far chaps. I'm thinking, really, the diesel would need to go in our daily driver after all, in which case stick to the original plan of the EJ25 (or perhaps the EG33!) is better in the Syncro, as I do far fewer miles in it. So would this donor diesel truck be an ok donor fo...

Re: My 'new' Tristar Syncro Doka - The journey starts here...

Is the Doka a syncro? Because you would need it to be, to get fuel tank and engine bars. i'd be wanting to put the engine in upright if i had a Doka, you wouldnt need any JX bits then. Have you found a doka syncro then?... Last time I had a chat with Jed about this, he said the same as you Lloyd - ...

Re: My 'new' Tristar Syncro Doka - The journey starts here...

The plan has been to put the Ej25 in the Tristar until now, but an now thinking again about Diesel. Putting the SVX in the 2wd recently has made me a little more fuel sensitive! Does it make sense to buy a donor Doka with a 1Y diesel for £1300, and swap everything over to the Tristar? And then at a ...

Re: Subaru Power steering question

Cool ian. Let me know how you get on. I won't likely put the ej25 in the doka until about May time so would be nice to know if you managed it.

Are you putting a scuby in the Syncro or SA?
