Low and behold, I found a burst hose on the hose to the cabin heat exchanger, just at the termination to the engine. I didnt have...

Re: Water Leak on my 1.9 WBX DG
Hey Shane Best wishes to you both for the rest of your honeymoon. You don't say in what condition and how well it ran before this little problem! Was it running OK? No bad habits like smoking a lot, especially going downhill? IF - it was going OK and as you have spent so much time on the body and p...

Re: Spraying Rustoleum
Any tips on spraying with Rustoleum,
do you use any type of paint thinners or the Rustoleum 7301 stuff or does this matter.
is the paint very slow to cure?
any advice would be appreciated, just ready to start works.

I had a similar problem, sometimes the fuel pump may seem to be pumping fine but may be slack on actual pressure delivered to the carb. There a cheap replacement in the overall scheme of things

Re: Self Supporting Starter
what i'm planning to do tomorrow is to install the oversize bushing i have got. i'm going to drill out the casing hole to accomodate.
i'm surprised that there are no starters available that will support themselves when installled.
would make it a solid repair, no more to worry about after that.

Re: Van not starting after running out of fuel
yep, i've changed the coil (the old one may have been ok) changed the distributor, isolated all issues. i think i may not have actually ever ran outta fuel but i was more or less empty going up a steep road when the problem first arose. is it an aluminium component that looks a little like a hard di...

Re: Van not starting after running out of fuel
ok, i've moved on from having a van with a problem after running out of fuel to a van that starts but cuts out. it starts fine, warms up a little and conks as soon as you put some pressure on the engine along the road. i have handed it over to a mechanic to work on it. he says that the ignition modu...
