81 Aircooled - 2 ltr 1970cc - East Sussex Hi Peeps ! Not been using the girl for a couple of weeks, started her up today to find a loud tapping noise, could be a sticky tappet ? but when driving at high revs, you get another noise - more noisier and faster . but this is only at high revs. Any ideas ...

Yeah i did read all them posts, i just thought i'd try my luck and see if anyone had a good one sitting about? whereabouts in sussex are you? I'll come have a look see..... as above said, its virtually same as my DG watercooled fuel pump. thanks mate , yeah, i know once i replace everything should be ok ,If money wasnt an issue i would be very happy with it but low income and running out of funds its put a bit damper on things. Cheers Doug, i just wish i could jump in it and enjoy her rather thinking, Mobile phone - check Haynes manual - check AA card - check Breakdown sandwiches and flask - check since buying it in august, we have been out properly about 5 times, to which everytime the AA has been out to rescue us, bad lu...

BAD news today , just had a call to find out that my rear suspension arms need replacing as they are rotten, have had previous repairs full of filler etc.............
Does anyone know where i could by a pair from ???

Around 50 mph at high revs going up a slight hill on the motorway my 81 Aircooled 1970cc developed a missfire,
pulled over waited a couple of minutes deciding wether to carry on or not, decided to go and was fine, until i resched 50 again
