I'd be starting from GVW* and the published kerb weight of the Holdsworth, then looking at the weight of the batteries and the large/heavy accessories (and water?) then seeing whats left for you, clothes, food etc.

Re: Window and door seals
Why would you pm someone about such a popular and yet also mundane topic? A forum search would bring a lot of results.

Re: little advice pls
FWIW I'd put a 1.8 20vt petrol engine in it I've been seeing this done a fair bit lately. I dreamt of doing it about 12 years ago when I did my last AGG conversion but it wasn't a path well travelled and the van was my daily. Now mk3 gtis are near extinct, a low power 1.8t seems a very good choice....

Re: Window and door seals
Its a very common bodywork/restoration enquiry, so why not just post in the relevant sub-forum with some photos to help identify the seals and/or window sizes (using the imgur button) and someone will be along to help. Rather than pestering one forum member who is "recommended" PS the door...

Re: little advice pls
Aidan took the words out of my mouth - black smoke followed by kaboom is a fuelling issue, the last thing you want to do is put that pump on another engine. +1 Black smoke means chronically overfuelling, sounds like it hydraulic'd and for a diesel that's bad news. Unless of course your engine ran a...

Re: Wasserboxer injectors
Where are we at with fuel injectors and availability these days for a DJ engine. I suspect I have one that is not happy. 0 280 150 206 is the original part no. People talk of alternatives but they seem to be drying up also. www.injectorcleaning.co.uk in Hull seem to have a defective website at pres...

Re: VW Speed Shop exhaust
Its the early exhaust gasket kit, comprising a pair of 2-pipe/three bolt gaskets and a repurposed tailpipe gasket for the collector/silencer joint. I have some NOS VW ones in stock but the bolts are too short. Very high quality however they do have an asbestos warning label. Sealed packets.

You are clamping or blocking the vacuum hose so that the engine doesn't go lean?

Re: No Off Side Indicators On Hazard Switch.
FWIW I recall having a hazard switch that did weird things when it had the obligatory pre-mot "check everything still works" poke around.
Gave is some exercise and it settled down after a while, could have been a bit of bad earthing in the mix too, but the indicators worked ok.

Don't mix the cylinders and pushrods, the aftermarket stuff is ok but its all subtly different so keep them as sets.
