Re: My project bus

I didn't have any vatcan but I used kurust instead once it was all cleaned up....

Re: My project bus
I then decided as I was doing the bodywork that it should really get a new paint job as the white spray job that was done on it is terrible with lots of runs. The van has also picked up a few parking dents down it's flanks so having studied the paint rollering thread many times I have chosen to go d...

My project bus. 18/04/11 finally updated.
Hi All, I've decided to start a thread on my van to catalogue the work I'm doing on it. Maybe some of it will help others and also folks can point me in the right direction if they think I'm doing something the wrong way (more likely!). I bought it last year and since then basically just drove it wh...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Well it was going to be white with a black roof but just as i was about to hit the buy button on the website yesterday I had a change of heart. So, after some deliberations last night and most of today it's now going to be light grey (RAL 7035) with a black roof (RAL 9005). No going back now as I've...

Re: Fuel Drain Back
I'd check that your tank's not creating a vaccum too. That will cause it to suck the fuel back after you shut off.
Weird that your getting diesel spots on the tailgate and bumper. Wouldn't think even if it was leaking it could show up there.

Re: diesel engine and glow plug indicator light
The glow light has never worked on mine and I've never got around to fixing it.
I just switch on the ignition, count to 10 then start. Works fine. In winter I do the same but pull out the choke slowly as it starts to turn over. Then shut the choke pretty much straight after it has caught.

Re: Yet another speedo question - legal aspect to this one
I don't think it is illegal for the display to read the wrong mileage. As long as when you sell the vehicle you mention the fact it's a different speedo and the mileage is wrong. I might be wrong though.

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
I've finally found somewhere in Germany that sells Rustoleum online, so I'm going to order some. I'm wanting to do the van white again but with a black roof so I'd like to ask you guru's how much I should be ordering as it's not cheap over here at 61 Euros for the 2.5lt tin. The 750ml tin is 21 Euro...

Re: Getting under your van?
As mentioned, if using ramps chock the wheels. I didn't and an Escort van tried to eat me once! The Escort was in my garage, nice and level but with a slope leading into it. I had driven the car in nose first and positioned the ramps infront of the rear wheels (they aren't too high, are solid wooden...
