Brakes Rear handbrake cables
These are the two cables that come from the central balance or equaliser plate attached to the front single cable that runs up the the handbrake (Yes the equaliser does sit at rather jaunty angle its normal!). The springs can get lazy and corroded leading to poor handbrake shoe return although this is mainly taken care of by the main springs whithin the brake drum so these get left longer and longer without attention. if your drum is in need of a service its probably a good idea to see to these as well. The only producer of these parts seems to be GEMO. the only issue with them is that the plastinc guide is about 0.5mm too large a diameter to locate correctly in the back plate so they require some trimming to fit correctly. They are supposed to have a large P clip securing them to the underside of the trailing arm.
