Hi,
Would appreciate some advice please. I am thinking of putting an overhead locker in. How are they fixed to the underside of the roof? Are they just fixed with brackets and self tapping screws into the upper side of the van (sorry, don't know the technical term). If anyone could kindly post some pictures of their overhead locker fixing points it would be a great help!

It is "hung" from 4 hooks that go into holes in the body work.

This is a translation of the text that goes with the picture.

You have to find holes that are about 2 cm in diameter. The cross bar between the D-pillars two of them, each in the longitudinal bars between C-and D-pillar one.

Now you do the following (I assume it is a homemade roof box):

You take 6 mm threaded rods, turn onto at one end of an arc of about 75 - 80 degrees (acute angle), the short part is about 3 cm long. At the other end you cut them off by about 5-10 cm long, as they are needed.

They are back in my original Westfalia cabinet pushed through the bottom plate on the sides are attached to the cabinet angle through which the threaded rod is inserted (see pictures).

You hang all the four threaded rods with the short ends into the holes lift, up the cabinet, so that all threaded rods go through the corresponding holes (floor plate or angle), large washers, then fasten with self-locking nuts. The protruding part of the threaded rods reaping from then.

My cabinet is secured with 2 rods on the left side is the side cabinet, it is also fastened to the roof rack.

Thanks for that. My van roof is insulated and has headliner in place. Stupid question, but does the overhead locker go under the headliner, or does the headliner have to be removed with the locker sitting flush to the actual roof ?(if that makes sense?!)
Also, is there a diagram anywhere where I can see what/where these c/D pillars are? Sorry, totally clueless.

Also, failing the above way of fixing should locating the holes be difficult, is there another way that anyone else has fixed their locker?

The ones that I have seen have the locker sitting on the headliner, you do not have to remove the headliner.

Probably but I don't know of one. The D pillar is the last one (backend), the C pillar is the next one forward, the B pillar is between the doors and sliding door and the A pillar is the front one.

The holes aren't difficult to find, if I had my bus here I'd photograph their location.
At the back, open the tailgate. Come approx. 6" in from the side quite close to the edge (1 or 2") and press on the headline and you'll feel areas where there is metalwork underneath.

The other holes can be found above the rear window frames, again poke about with a screwdriver.
