Hi All,

Have looked at the Wiki and can't fine the answer to a problem.

Am having to replace the front outer CV on a Syncro 14" I have recently purchased to get it through the MOT for import, have decided to do the inner as well as it seems a bi loose and once it's done its done for a while (he said hopefully).

Brickwerks have the outers in stock but no inners (I suspect down to some green lane activity in Wales recently).

So if anyone is still awake and reading this drivel the question is - Are the inners on the rear of a 2wd the same as those on the front of a 14" Syncro? As I just so happen to have a couple on my murdered old van which I could use if they are suitable.

Yes. The rears and front inners are all the same and the same as a 2WD ..... have fun and dont forget the latex gloves

Thanks for that Paddy and yes the latex gloves, I have a pile of discarded ones already, they don't make em like they used to, or then again perhaps I used to be just a little bit less clumsy.

If your doing the CV joints and are putting an order in from Baxter I would be tempted to order in the CV spline bolts rather than the old Hex ones that will probably be on the van, as well as ordering some new washers and and boots. When ordering the front inner bolts remember they are 2mm longer than the ones used on the rear ones and there should be a spacer between the inner cv joint and the diff but they can often be missing. I think baxter might sell them but I know Futbus defiantly does. Its a satisfying job knowing they have all been taken care of.

Hope this helps and I look forward to seeing the new van. I just looked at a big job that needs a full rip out inc floors the lot in Ash Vale and should be starting it in a few weeks. I dont know if your around that way but you should swing by and let me have a perv at your van. Just look out for the big detached derelict house next to the car lot with the caravan full of laboures staying in it

Thanks Jed, Ash Vale isn't to far from me and the van will be imported, registered etc in the next couple of weeks hopefully so will take a ride over and let you have a look you old pervert.
