Wrong Propex

Rightio.

I bought a second hand Propex 1600 off of eBay last week and as soon as it came, it looked different from the ones I've seen on here.

The advert said it had come out of an accident damaged campervan, but if you look on here - http://www.propexheatsource.co.uk/pdf/P ... ns%232.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; -
it's clearly a 1600 (for boats) and not a 1600W (for vehicles).

Now, I know that this is 50% my fault as I should have asked the seller to confirm the model (but you don't, do you?) but what I want to know from someone who knows, is can I still fit this inside my van? Or have I bought a turkey?

Pissed.

Off.

But thanks in advance.

The Propex 1600 can be fitted in vehicles or in boats. The only difference is the angle it is fitted at. Not sure what your point is. Whats stopping you installing it?

The only difference according to the manual in your link is the combustion gas and exhaust pipework. On a vehicle unit two separate pipes exit the vehicle floor, one for fresh air to the burner, one for exhaust gases out. On the marine version the two pipes are intergrated into a single double skinned pipe. Simply route them through the floor of the camper and ensure the inner pipe (exhaust) extends beyond the outer pipe (fresh air) to avoid sucking the exhaust back up the fresh air. Judging by the illustration in the manual, it doesn't have to extend by particularly much either.

You can always ring Propex - they're very helpful by all acoounts
