Hi folks,

Looks like I wont be going to any Syncro events in the next few months due to a smashed up knee (depressed lateral tibial plateau fracture with associated vertical split to the bone and some ligament tears...)

The joys of Skiing......

I've had an operation to repair the damage (bone graft, metal plates, lots of nice long screws straight through the top of the Tibia) but walking isn't an option for a couple of months and the doctors tell me it will be 3 to 6 months before I can walk normally.

Gutted really, as I had plans for attending most events this year.....

Glad I've never been skiing, I know I'm gravitationally challenged, I used to climb a bit but getting dropped by the belayer I used to trust because he was too busy watching some lass's (admittedly attractive ) a*** put me off in the end

my knees are shot anyway from carrying the extra weight and cycling, even pressing the clutch hurts a bit now and I don't like stairs much either so good job I only have to step up into the van

I was put right off any ideas of strapping my feet to fancy planks after an old school mate (and best man) took a minor tumble on his snowboard a few years ago (him in his early-mid 30's back then) and a bad landing = 6 months of wearing a body brace due to several broken vertebra.
He's made a full recovery but it could have so easily been Chorlton and the Wheelies for the rest of his life...

PS I never knew you were one for a bit of the old "crank on a mono" Aidan? My best ever was seconding "Elegy" E2 5c at the Roaches. A long time ago...
