Has anyone replaced the heat/noise? Insulating ? Piece of rubber backed foam that sits underneath the vehicle, above the gearbox, on angled bulkhead? Was thinking of sticking on flashing tape and covering with closed cell foil backed foam?? Don't suppose u can get a replacement. AnywY' I've vactand and waxed the area before applying something over top. Thanks for any advices.....

Anyone? Strictly speaking, it's not a bulkhead as much as the raised diagonal area above the gearbox.

Removed the original foam when I change the gearbox. Gave a good clean and de-grease and then covered the whole area with dynomat before waxoiling over the top. A noticeable reduction in noise.

Need to make sure the area is absolutely oil and grease free before fixing dynomat and make sure that you warm with a heat gun to ensure maximum adhesion.

Didn't bother with foam as, like the original foam, I felt it acted as a water trap.

Good but expensive is lead lined foam for boat engine boxes.
THIS isn't lead lined but gives you an idea of the price.
