Replacing the flooring

Hi,

Hope you're all well and enjoying the sunshine. There are a few bank holidays coming up too - I'm so looking forward to them! Hope you've got some nice camping trips planned.

I'm preparing myself to do some work on my van over Easter weekend, so I've got four days to get quite a bit done.

At the moment my van has a rather yucky carpet inside:

And there's some old original vinyl underneath.

So I'm planning on ripping the carpet and the old vinyl out and I've bought some black and white chequered vinyl to replace it with.

I just wondered whether anyone on here has done this before, and if so whether you have any tips or tricks? Is it worth treating the floor with anything before I lay down the new vinyl? Anything I should watch out for, and any tips on making sure the new floor will last longer?

Cheers
Jess

I'd take the furniture out too and check the floor and side panle behind as it's a common rust area. Eventually it can eat the floor away above the inner sill and then eat the inner sill away too

Plus I bet the flooring goes beneath the units too :ok

then when you have it all out you can buy a set of factory floor insulation panals from me and keep you toasty and quiet
