Hi I have just bought a 2.1i f plate caravelle . It had been standing for a year and wouldn't start so we took it home on a breakdown a new starter solenoid cured the starting problem but now the autobox is playing up .
OK here goes :- park is park , reverse is neutral , neutral moves me forwards as does 1st 2nd and drive
It engaged reverse once to get me out of my drive , the forward gears worked fine but I had to three point turn the bus pushing it backwards myself ( not a lot of fun ).

So do you think the box is proper fooked or will an afternoons tinkering fix it ?
Any ideas . cheers John

sounds like the linkage is out of sink
check the shift mounts underneath

Hi guys
Checked the linkage today unfortunately it appears to work fine so i guess it's an internal problem . Does anyone have any experience of autobox internals ? . Could it be fixable or should I be looking for a second hand autobox .
