Temperature high after recon engine fitted

Morning all.
We've recently had a recon engine fitted by elite and before I start phoning them up sounding dim I thought I would check here first.
With the old 1.9 engine the temp guauge used to sit under the halfway mark under the red temp bulb but now it's sitting at 3/4 which seems abit high to me.
We've topped up the coolant but have only done 100 miles on new engine.
Just wanted to know where others 'sit'? (no rude comments please!! )
Or is there something I should be concerned about - leak/air blockage??

Any suggestions would be gratefully received!!
Have a happy sunny Saturday everyone!!!! :D

The gauges do vary, as do thermostats and temp sensors, my gauge sits a bit above half way. I would say (once fully warmed up) if it sits in the same place, steady, all the time, then there is little to worry about.

As Elite fitted it, perhaps a phone call to them to let them know, just to make sure your warranty is safe.

Keep an eye on levels but other than that I recommend you do not bleed it or otherwise work on it yourself without speaking to them first.

In my humble experience.. early vans tend to sit dead on the red led and late vans just on the right of the led.. anything above that means 1 of a few things.. sender faulty.. gauge faulty.. T'stat sticking... air lock in the system (needs bleeding/topping up) or its genuinely running hot.. what was swapped from the original engien and what was a new item??

I'd suggest you speak to Elite and ask them what they recomend you do.. its under warranty and anythng not authorise/advised byt them might void it....
