Tempted, but I shouldn't

Got a sniff of an ex Yorkshire Water RHD 1.6 diesel Syncro. J plate Jan '92, 110k on the clock.

Chap doesn't really know what he's got - "bought to convert to camper but now bought a camper". It looks straight enough in the pics, uncut panel van with fill bulkhead. No tax or test. I'm going to have a ride out and have a look I think, just for the fun of it. Sounds like it's got twin lockers fitted too

He's been "advised" it's worth between £3k & £7k ......... I'm thinking more like £1.2k - £1.5k if the running gear is in half good order, leaving a bit in the pot for a new VC, new pair of diffs etc when needed. Am I a million miles off do you reckon? Don't need another Syncro at all really, but I do like a decent deal now and again

I will, given half a chance. Watch this space, hoping to go look on Thursday.....

Even worse, he paid £500 for it off a recovery / scrap company

He's gone VERY quiet.... I guess he has decided to do a "tidy up and huge profit" job, Shame, I was keen, but he's got lots of folk on Farcebook telling him how rare & priceless a thing it is. I'll keep you posted if it comes to anything though
