Sorry - windows again

Hi guys - my first visit in here over from the syncro forum.
Well I have the Rusty panel van window conversion problem you have probably seen lots of times before.
I have checked the wiki, but not much info there on different types of window.
So I want to fit atleast an opening window in the back.
Are all windows the same dimensions ? Do sliding door windows fit the panel side ?
What are the rear vents for ? and will double glazed fit straight in ?
I understand the "frame" is different for factory fitted windows. But will the glass still fit my panel van conversion ?
Apparently I can get "factory" frames, rescued from scrap vehicles to replace my rusty flat panels, but I cannot see how they would fit in a tidy fashion.
Is it just a case of welding them over the top of the old ones (minus rust) ? and trying to make good.

I can't seem to find any straight answers
Hope you can help
Rich

I don't know the answers for sure but I would guess that the window sizes may be different, depending on what company converted the van..

If I had a panel van with rusty windows, I don't think I would try to put recessed windows in unless I was changing the entire panel in one go. Why not just repair your panel van windows? They've lasted 30 or so years... :ok

factory glass will fit the panal vans if you make the hole bigger, to fit the factory aperatures is more involved but better when done, you get the donors and remove the whole of the old metal ,you dont just cut and bodge them in :rofl

Relativly easy to put factory windows in to a panal van. The hardest part is trying to find good donors.
I have done it and it looks factory when in, you would require the inner and outer panels. The outer gets fitted first and then the inner.
:ok
