Hi have a 1985 auto topped up with too much atf! how do I drain off ? looked in haynes manual but coudn't find anything . Thanks for looking

I undid the bottom of the filler tube.Drained the box.And refilled mine with the correct amount.There will still be a bit in the box.so be careful with the amount you refill it with.

How are you checking the level??

If I remember correctly.. should be up to normal running temperature (after a short drive), then left idling in neutral for 2 or 3 minutes.. then remove dipstick wipe, re insert and remove to check level...
