Rear air vents

Hi guys,

I've checked out the wiki and there are a few comments about drilling drain holes in the rear voids beneath the vents, but no one seems to have mentioned blanking off the vents at the top.

Would this be a viable option? This would prevent water entering in the first place and I assume that cos I'm running a water cooled tdiesel, it wouldn't matter in terms engine cooling.

Has anyone closed off the vents, and if so, how?!

Cheers

Tim

Mr VW put them there for a reason. :)

Yeah, but I thought Mr VW put them there to cool an air cooled engine... If I'm water cooled then aren't they just a design hangover?

So where does your air cleaner get fresh clean dry air from?
Heat when not moving is vented up and out as there's no other way for it to move (like the screen vent on cars)

South african vans enhanced the intakes, they did not remove them
