My LH gas burner has started playing up and I'd like to change it, anyone know who sells these and any links to site for swapping over? I've checked fridge threads but not found one re burner swap. Thanks. Tim

I would have thought that you would be better off cleaning out the jet and pipe to the burner that you have - there is nothing to go wrong with a burner basically.

You would have to dismantle it to change it anyway - time to get your hands dirty!

I guess to start off with you need to remove the front panel which is held on by some small screws at the bottom and years of dirt. Pull the cooker knobs off and you will see some nuts that would need undoing. Then I think you pull the front panel from the bottom upwards and towards you till the top unhooks. After that you will have to work out what comes next.

This can't be the right instructions - it says nearly maintenance free - both of mine don't work..! This site is great, now to make a speshul tool..

My burners have a screw through the top. Take the screw out and the burner lifts off. It seems like a few saucepans must have spilled into your burner to stop it working.

So - made a tool out of a thick old washer I had using the Dremel -used the instructions here as a guide. felt real smug but can I get this undone? Nah - I've plus gassed it to death, considering blow torch next.. Washer has bent outof recognition.Anyone removed these? Are they really this hard?? I'm starting to get the idea that a replacement burner might be more fun.

Right, if you have the same westie stove and burners as the one in the photos above they are the same as those on my current van. These don't have screws holding the burners in place. You just turn them through about 90 degrees and they then lift out. My old stove had screws holding the burners in place. Sorry.

If there is gunk inside the burner then just clean it carefully. If there is no gunk blocking the burner then something very odd is happening. These stoves are simple. The tap turns on, the gas comes through and you light the gas. Does the gas not light at all or is it a problem that when you release the knob after lighting the gas, it then goes out?

Got excited then and thought you've cracked it - can't get them to move still though.

Jumped the gun on send there..! Any way what I was going to add was this has never worked since I've had the van. The canister has a little gas in it but I'm wondering if the pressure isn't enough.

Something else is important as regard gas pressure. Standard westie stoves/fridges operate at 50mbar. UK gas regulators run at 28mbar a lower pressure rate, which means your stove won't operate at a high enough pressure if you are using a 28mbr gas regulator. You can get 50mbar regulators on Amazon etc. That will make a difference too.

Thanks - that might be it - I put a new regulator on as the old one had died a death - no markings so I just got the first one I could find.

Yeah it's a 29 bar - 50bar is on its way. Hopefully that will sort it. That and a new gas bottle. Thanks for your help.. Getting close to making progress
