Sorry messed up my previous message....
I have seen a t25 on ebay (desperate to get back in one) and its got an AHU TDI engine with a four speed ABD (ex petrol?) gearbox. The bloke says it will do 40 mpg and 65mph happily and the 4 speed is a stronger box. Soooo is this a good match and is a 5 speed easy to fit? Its 250 miles away so i want to make sure its what i want before i go and try to buy it...
Thanks :D

Find your box on here http://rjes.com/html/gearbox_types.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; as you will see its not perfect, but not far off. 3000-3250 is a top cruising rpm for good mpg. So yours is pretty good really, bigger wheels/tyres can help

From memory a DK box is pretty much the best.

A 5 speed is no better than a 4 speed.
