Guten Abend T25 Experten!
Some Dumkopf fitted two whacking great batteries under the Kapitan Seats. Ja!
Und now the sod+++ng Batterien won't lift out of their tray. Even if you move the seats as far forward/sideways as you can.

Donner and Blitzen.

Seats out --- right? Please tell me I don't have to take them out to renew the batteries- both of which are Schei+++t

Yup - if you've got captains seats they have to come out to remove the batteries. AFAICR you slide the seat off its runners and then undo the four nyloc nuts that hold the swivel base in place. A pain as you say but not too troublesome. Remember new nylocs when you replace them and don't do them up too tight when you replace the swivel base. (Don't ask me how I know that )

No No No.....you don't need to remove the swivel base...just slide the seats off their runners then turn the swivel base 180 degrees. Remove the 8mm bolt (13mm spanner size) retaining foot and the two terminals.

Really easy once you have discovered the small catch on the side of the seat that allows the seat all the way forwards.
Don't forget to refit the plastic runner strips.
Less that 10 minutes per battery.
Look for battery code 100...these are about as big as you can get (power wise) between 70-73ah but more importantly 175mm high (thats the biggy) Most are 190mm high and as you have discovered TOO TALL.
But don't buy before you have double checked that height.

You don't even need to take the seats off their runners. Just rotate the whole lot 180 degrees and then slide it as far towards the front of the van as you can.
