195 / 14 C Tyre Pressure

Hi Folks,
I have just bought some wheels for my van and they came with the slightly wider 195/14 C tyres as opposed to the regular 185's
looking in the inside passenger door info it advises 37 front and 48 rear, checking Wiki and looking at previous posts im finding the advise a little confusing, with 45 front and 55 rear mentioned, they do have a 65 rating on the sidewall and my gut feeling is that they need to be more than the standard settings as the van is not as it came out of the factory??
has anyone else got 195's on? if so love to hear from you,
many thanks

The difference between 185s and 195s is so small that I'd just stick with the factory pressures. It's not like forecourt gauges are remotely accurate anyway...
By "65 rating" I assume you mean 65psi max? Ignore that. It says nothing about what's the _right_ pressure.

My Westy California has the original sticker saying 43F/53R PSI for 185 R14C's but then they are a pretty heavy camper conversion.
Generally widening the tyre leads to lower pressures....so the standard pressures are as high as I would recommend and the likely ideal would be a few PSI less in each but by how much would be purely guesswork.

Interesting. IIRC from checking 'em the other day, 185/14Cs should be 2.7bar/3.3bar (40/48psi) going by the sticker on our '88 Club Joker...

40/42 front and 45 rear seems a good average pressure I find. Had various wheel/tyre set ups and thats what works best for me anyway.
I run with 15" steel merc wheels now (195/65) and its still same pressures. I reduce them a little in winter if roads not great.

There are lots of different pressures Martin.. not sure why, but seen loads of variables on the stickers...
