Campsite near Severn Bridge crossing?

Hi all

Have arranged a week with the camper in Pembrokeshire starting at St Davids but would like to break the journey from
deepest darkest Essex with an overnight stay at a campsite which could be on either side of the Severn Bridge, within a mile or
two or three if possible.
Anybody done the same who can recommend a site?...any ideas gratefully received.

Thanks

Molly Man :)

Head up the Wye Valley from chepstow; a small diversion for you on the grand scheme of things but well worth the trip. Not much on the Bristol side around the severn crossing worth considering.

Try http://www.beechesfarmcampsite.co.uk/

Great stuff Verat25

Just looked at those and now have to make a decision!... could be difficult.
Many thanks to you and Mudlark for the info, that's the beauty of having 'people on the ground'.

Hi Molly,

We took the newly kitted out camper for a day trip to Cwmcarn Forest last Friday, situated a few miles north of Newport.

If you like the great outdoors the website is - http://www.cwmcarnforest.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The walk up to the Celtic hillfort overlooking vast quantities of Welsh and English countryside is worth the aching legs the following day.

I've never seen purpose made mountain bike facilities before. These people go where goats would struggle.

Pete.
