Is this the correct replacement for the voltage regulator?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270533103195? ... 1439.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

as the temp and fuel gauges were not working so i fitted this
now they do work sort off as the light flashes all the time and reads low
and the fuel gauge reads low
for a start
is this the correct one i fitted?

cheers

Hello,

I'm pretty sure that should work - is it possible you've got it on back to front? I know some of them need putting on "upside down" - worth a try maybe?

That is not a direct replacement.
Mount it back to front and pack out the gap with aluminium for a heat sink. If you want the 'reversed ' one you will have to pay around £30 (price when I last looked for them)
You may well have blown that one though if you connected it up incorrectly.

Ok i just turned it round using a nut for the heatsink
already i see the fuel gauge is looking good so the VR isnt blown
will see about the temp gauge working
tommorow
but it looks like that was the problem :ok
now my speedo cable has broken at the end...happy days!
