Should say on the lamp; if it's about 12" long it's probably the bog standard 8W

Although its no bad idea to consider an LED replacement as it will draw less current.

and about as much use as a match in a cathedral. LEDs only illuminate the area they're pointing at; a fluorescent illuminates 360 degrees and lights up the entire living area so is far more practical. LED's are more 'mood' lighting; nice enough but useless otherwise unless you have hundreds of the bugger's dotted about the van.

Discuss

They've improved a lot Bren and I like the new LED strips. They can be localised but depends what you use, what lumen and what purpose. The two tilley style ones I bought (ALDI) lit up plenty at Back To Basics although after the third glass of Saki I was past caring :D

Each to their own Ralph. I do have LEDs but would never get rid of the fluorescents as they light up the interior much better from a point of looking at what you're doing (food prep, searching for stuff etc). LED's are for the end of the festivities when I'm sipping an irish coffee before passing out in a coma on the bed :D
