Vatcan application

Simple question...

I need to keep the rust at bay until I have saved enough to get the work done. I have bought vatcan off eBay and want to apply it this weekend to the outside of the van.

Just wondering the best way forward..

Wash van

Dry off

Remove any lose paint

Then paint on

Is that about right? Thanks :D

Spot on. Just remember, in contact with bare metal it will dry black.

Thanks - at this stage I don't really care if it looks pretty or not, just want to minimise rust until I can get sorted.

LPG savings fund is now full so will be getting this sorted in next couple of weeks and then starting on saving for rust.

Try to expose enough paint around rusty areas to reveal a little clean steel, that way you get a better seal with the Vactan. Also bear in mind that even Vactan will struggle on rusty seams as oxygen can reach it on the reverse of the panel but the Vactan will slow it down certainly.
