Hi all, i need to change the steering bushes on my van as they have perished and knackered.

Question is i am not sure what to undo or remove to be able to change these? i have managed to borrow a 4 post ramp thursday and friday evening and am going to change all 3 sterring couplings at same time, by removing one of these will it access me enough room on column to fit these sterring bushes or do i have to remove something else, spent about an hour staring at steering column last night but could not work out best way, Help please :) Thanks Martin.

Do you mean the 4 steering rack bushes?

When I watched mine being replaced it seemed to be a case of undoing the nuts then knocking the buses out then replaceing with the better brickwerks powerflex rack bushes

If you mean the two tophat bushes on the column behind the cowling then you need to breakdown the column, Tbh this also makes it easer it replace the coupling inside the van too. Just make sure you mark up the splines so you can put it back in the same place

It was the top hat bushes i was talking about Cruz, thanks for link had a good look there earlier and another link i think of yours but picture would not open. was really hoping not to have to take column off or loosen and was hoping by taking out steering donut at floor level this would give me enough room to change top hat bushes. thanks for help tho. :)

Iirc you can undo the 4 bolts holding the bottom coupling and remove that part of the column. You may then be able to push out the old bushes.
