hi there, i am just wondering in other peoples experience, if it is possible to patch into the 12v near a light fitting, and an earth, and run a fused cable run from there to an electric socket or something? or is that area pretty well insulated up/in a loom, would i have to pick the insulation on the loom apart there or are there some smaller insulated coloured cables coming out of the light that i could patch into?

or is it better to run a cable run from the dash, ie radio connections with a crimped and soldered splitter or insulating tape? could you please offer any advice? thank you.

Might be a prudent time to create a new fusebox from the battery. Thats what I did. Use thicker cable to fusebox (similar to existing fusebox under dash). You can mount the fusebox wherever suits you. After that you can decide what guage wire for whatever ancilleries you fit, plus they#ll all be on their own fuse. If you patch into other wires, you'll lose track of what loads are being experienced and not saying it would, but it could resuolt in a fire. plus stuff not being fused properly.
