Rear wheel bearing

Hi all, sorry I'm back again, I have just removed the rear hub on my 1986 T3 Syncro and it looks as if the wheel bearing has been running very hot and there is also a small amount of play.
I've undone the four bolts that hold the bearing housing.
I need to know how the bearing comes off the drive shaft and does the bearing have to be pressed out of its housing.

Many thanks

Rolfe

I just usually tap the hub off with a club hammer after I tap the drive shaft in abit before I take the backing pate off.

Here is a how to video, it might be of help :wink: . http://campervanculture.com/2011/07/jed ... on-syncro/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Its always better to press bearings in and out. Tapping them in and out can damage the bearing housing surface and its becoming apparent that these housings are a wearing part on a Syncro.
