Hello

While charging my batteries using the original westie split charger connected via the electric hook up point, it developed a fault and tripped the circuit breaker( in my kitchen) blew the fuse on top of the split charger transformer but more worringly seems to have knocked all the power out on the van (except from the leisure battery).......any ideas what might have happend and more importantly how i can get my van running again ?

Have you got a 35amp fuse on the positive lead of the starter battery. If that's blown that would take out the van's electrics. If it has blown check for a short before you replace it.

Unplug the charger, first of all - if you remove the wooden surround, you'll see two multiplugs behind it - just unplug both of those (one 12v, one 240v).

Then unscrew the buzzing boat anchor, and bin it... <grin> I'm well happy with the CTEK MXS5 we fitted a couple of months ago - it fitted neatly to the old divider piece, and frees up a chunk of space. The one thing it doesn't do (yet) is charge the starter battery, but if you do the radio wiring mod, that's not a prob.
