Newbie AAZ Question

Hi folks,
Just got myself a Hi Top Westy with rebuilt AAZ conversion. This is my first T25 and I'm getting a lot of useful info from the site but I wondered if anyone could help tell me what this part does and why there is a blanking plug (bolt) in place?
Thanks in advance for your comments.

Pretty sure that part is the the pressure regulator to limit the turbo boost pressure and the bit that has been blanked is the outlet for the relief valve.
If this is correct there would be two reasons for blanking:
1. Because the valve is FUBAR and therefore not allowing the turbo to provide the necessary pressure when spooled up,
or
2. The regulator has been sealed off to try and increase the turbo pressure.
I have fitted an AAZ and retained the JX inlet manifold including the presses relief valve as per the JX setup. It may be that this is a known modification that someone more knowledgable than me will confirm/deny.

Correct it is the blow off for the intake manifold. The pipe can be taken off completely and if you find that the blow off valve is no good we have plenty of spares here.

Thanks guys. So this valve dumps excess pressure to atmosphere if the pressure inside the inlet manifold is too high. Is the pipe - that is sealed with the bolt - going to prevent this? I take it that is the outlet for the air - or am I missing something? Should I take the bolt out? How can I check this regulator works?

I would have thought that the blocked off pipe will prevent excess pressure being released. Not sure how you would check other than to remove it, take it for a drive and see if the engine accelerates more quickly when the turbo spools up. If not, you may wish to replace the regulator to prevent over-pressurisation.
