Eberspacher d5w

I have come across a eberspacher d5w in a scrapyard it is still fitted and when the control panel is switched on it is running sounds abit like a hairdryer I switched it off as mo water in the tank would I be able to fit this into my td 25 or is it not worth bothering with?

i decided to buy the heater as i only gave £20 for it i have the heater the wires and control unit,i also got the dash mounted control panel,although the display cant be read properly,but since doing a bit of research do i need the relays that control the internal blower im hoping to get it set up to bench test it properly and if i cant get it going ill sell on for spares/repair.has anyone got one of these fitted i could do with a few pointers

Read the manuals?
The deafening silence is most probably because no one has one/uses one. I personally wouldn't use one as it's adding another potential problem to an old and delicate cooling system.

I have one on my 25 that doesnt work - i think its pretty rusty and leaks diesel when you switch it on. One day I hope to refurbish it. All the wiring and switch system are perfect. If you want any pics just ask. If you're selling that one for spares I'd be interested.

Unlikely that you have a D5W - you may have a D1 or D2.
