I have seat belts installed in the rear of my van, Do i have to have the rear seat in to pass an MOT as there are seat belts there?? Does that make sense? lol I took some of the interior out including the rear seat so i could repair a bit of surface rust. Its MOT time soon and just wonderd if i need to put it back in because of the seat belts.

Seats without belts is a fail, unless it's registered as a motorcaravan. Never heard of a fail for belts without seats though. Why not have a word with your MOT station and ask them what they recommend rather than taking the gamble, put I think you should be OK - unless I'm reading this completely wrongly of course

I believe it's a Fail if the seats are gone but the belts are still there.

Surely as the requirement for seat security testing is for front passenger and driver's seats only it cannot be a fail?

If it ain't explicitly listed in the tester's manual as a "reason for rejection", it can't be a fail.
