fuel problem

my t25 is a 1.9 petrol just got it last year and not moved much over the winter previous owner fitted a new carb but turned out to be fuel pump so fitted a new one im haveing a problem starting and it doesnt seem to be lifting fuelthe inline filter is always nearly empty will start and ticks over but seems to die if you try to move and i need to move it from where its stored someone said there is differant pumps , the plunger or something is differant but im not sure or what about some of the electric pumps on the market would they do thanks

Time for fresh fuel ... modern 'unleaded' loses it's get up and go after a short period of time. :?

The mechanical fuel pump is a standard item with a couple of subtle differences but sbasically the same thing, it is operated by a 100mm push rod the length is also important. Can't comment on electric fuel pumps as they are non-standard on a carb 1.9.

PS it would be prudent to swap the petrol hoses and certainly the inline filter.
