We have a little bit too. Our lass is out in the Freelander - be interesting to compare it with the Syncro tomorrow if we get any deep enough to make it fun to go out.

Right. As a new syncro owner, just how good and safe am I in the snow? I'm in a doka, with rear diff lock and running BFG ATs. I have alot of experience driving in the snow from doing winter seasons in the alps, but with chains and winter tyres.

I have a journey to do tomorrow, and assume I'll be ok with the snow, but what about the added element of ice?

Just want to be sure!

Nothing to worry about Tom. You will be amazed at how safe it is, even when others are wheelspinning out of junctions and slewing across steep cambered roads on hard-packed snow.

You probably won't even need the locker!

You'll be grand had BFG AT's on last year was like driving normally, actually quite boring tried as I may couldn't get it to slide plus the At's are rated for winter conditions, they have the snowflake much to Andrews embarrassment but probably shouldn't mention the war

Hi Tom

Had loads of fun last year in the snow in doka syncro on ordinary tyres on 14' rims. You will have more control than anything else on the road. Don't forget to leave more time to brake though! Your heavier than most things you drive normally and once traction has gone during braking lift off quickly and re apply slowly.

Remember in snow conditions soft feet, just like soft hands when your n a promise! :D

its only raining in the caribbean (anglesey to you folks). Was going to go snow hunting in the snowdonian range but I've dropped a bolt out of a brake caliper; not me I paid a specialist to get an mot on my doka when I got it. Yesterday I got the DJ stuck tappet for the first time yesterday, I hope this isn't the start of the syncro blues.
