where is the best place for a canvas and how much should i be looking to pay ?
and secondly dose any one have any pictures of their reimo poptop's bed set up because i am unsure on how it would work , or any plans on how to build one. failing that dose any one happen to have one lying around they minght consider selling ?

As the Reimo is similar to Westy one i think the principle should be the same.
If your leaving the back part of the van roof on then you will need a support for the bed board, this will then hinge out towards the front, but you will need something to support it as Westies have a lip.
Sorry haven't got the bed sorted in ours yet (roof has only been on about 6 years

) so cant take pics.

I have a Reimo poptop and might be able to help, but which version do you have as there are several variants?

yeah I was thinking that they must have some sort of lip around the edge but I was unsure on how they cover the hole up like.

ah thank you hopefully you have the same sort. it is the front opening one like the west and it is about the same thickness as the westy but about 3/4 towards the back it slopes up another 4 or 5 inches. the roof is only 3/4 along the van with a luggage section on the fist 1/4 that dosnt lift up just like the westys.
cheers

yeah that is exactly the same as mine. thank you. right basically all i have got is the roof the luggage bit, a canvas and all the hinges and struts ect. what i am unsure on is how is attaches to the roof. and how the bed fits up there eg what mecanisum where the bed board comes up to as regards to the hole in the roof and what the bed sits on. so just a few photos of that would be great

cheers

Sorry no photos yet.
Only the front section of the van roof has been removed between the cab and the central cross rail and there is a wide soft plastic band sealing the edge and the headlining.
The bed is basically made from 2 plywood 1.1m-wide boards which rest on 2 edge-set plywood bearers, one either side (also set 1.1m apart) fixed to the tin roof, just inside the canvas for the full length of the roof. The canvas is fixed to the roof by a flat allumium strip on the inside and screwed down all round. The plywood bearers are about 40mm high with plastic edging on the top surface for the boards to rest on. There is a central cross member between the 2 rails wich is curved on the underside to accommodate the curvature of the tin roof, but level on top to line up and be flush with the side bearers. The edge of the rails has a plastic moulding set into it (you can get this from a Reimo stockist). The front of the two bed boards is cut into 2 pieces and all three pieces are hinged together with piano hinge.
Will try and get some photos soon if you still need them
