Is it a easy to change the front spring as described in the wiki and are there any other unforseen pitfalls that may await me ?
Although it did not fail on the dim brake lights it would be nice to know what to check up on and possibly sort out the problem if there is one..... Any idea`s???

dim back lights might be due to a bad earth or just the wrong lamps! to test the earth take the lamp plate out of the lens, hold a wire on to the earth plate and then onto a good earth on the van. ask a wililng volounteer to switch the lights on! are they brighter?? if yes problem solved! as for the spring pain in the a***! if its bust chop it out ! to get the new one in you might have to crack the upper ball joint, be prepared to replace it!!!! enjoy!

O K Dave your right about the spring being somewhat of a mare!!!
Finally got the job done (trust me to pick the day a hurricane drops by) and in the end because I could not split any of the joints I unbolted the suspension arm by the fuel tank. This was far easier but the awkward bit was getting the hole for the bolt to line up!!!
Right, next to tackle the lights and hopefully what you have said will sort it
Thankyou!!!
